Weekly picks #117

This week has been a little hectic, I've had barely any time to do my makeup as university work has been taking over as has general life! We've been out to the christmas markets a couple of nights this week which has been lovely but maybe a little bit too much muldwine was drunk! Oh well! But also starting to open my Advent calendar is always a highlight!

Rimmel & Maybelline haul

Today I was wondering around Boots and noticed that there were several new products out that I wanted to try, particularly the fresher skin foundation which I was really impressed with! It's a really light foundation and I love it for everyday wear. When I don't want my skin really perfected, as I fell like the consistency is thicker than a normal tinted moisturiser and it's great when set with a powder. And feels weightless on the skin. But for me and my oily skin it's definitely not a long wearing foundation and I can usually stretch it's use to about 5 hours with powder and a setting spray, but that's not a problem if your skins normal or dry.

Next the cream blush I wanted to try out as I love my coral pink and I really like the other powder blushes from Rimmel and they're really nice and I would recommend them forever. And their cream blushers didn't disappoint! It's really nice and bendable and I like it for more muted makeup days which was nice. 

Then I also picked up the Maybelline master strolling stick, now I've tried several of these stick highlighters and they were dry, particularly the soap and glory one which was disappointing, but this one is really nice and blends well into my cheek bones and gives me a nice highlight so I'm loving it.

Rimmel Glam eyes liner

This past few months eye time I wear liner I've used this one and it's always been a winner! For some reason I find the brush really easy to create a winged liner! So that's even better once dry the formula is black and opaque, the formula only comes off if you get it wet or rub at your eyes!

This week I've been loving my Liquid lipsticks particularly the NYX liquid suede lipsticks. Another thing I've been doing was my eyeliner with a wing and the Rimmel Glam eyes liner is perfect and is great for creating a winged liner! Then finally I'm loving the Revlon cream eyeshadow palette with contains great neutral shadows.

Today I used my Ciate olivia polarmo palette using the golden beige palette and the purple brown colour to blend out into the crease. Additionally then I lined my eyes using Rimmel Blue eyeshadow.

Matte liquid lipstick smack down

Hello, 

So far I was loving The Revlon HD liquid lipsticks for comfort and duration.

The sleek matte me lipsticks are difficult to apply but if you take extra time to apply it then it dries down quickly and ends up staying on for the longest out of all the liquid lipsticks. 

Similarly with the Gerard cosmetics liquid lipsticks they last a long time.

The Bourjois and Rimmel liquid lipsticks are quite similar and have a reduced amount of wear time. Then the Maybelline vivd matte liquid lipsticks are good and but I prefer the Revlon or Sleek.

Hello, 

So this week I've been loving the Nars Steven Klein face palette, which contained a Bronzer, Contour, Highlighter and four Blushes. Which I've been loving and I like how portable it is and the range of blushes. Then I've also been loving the loose translucent powder which I've been enjoying and it sets my makeup well. Then the Rimmel colour precision liner in blue which I think is great and it really looks greats in the summer when I want a simple eye look.

Rimmel Kate nudes

These are some really nice nudes in this collection but the other colours washed out my skin tone, so I just opted for these two. One is a lovely brown which I've been loving at the moment! Can't get enough of brown lipsticks which I think is a bit of a 90's throw back! And then the other nude is a slightly peach toned nude which I'm loving for days when I just need to throw on a lip colour which I don't mind if it potentially smudges. These lipsticks are really creamy they have a nice smell to them and for £5.49 I think it's a really good deal for them!

Rimmel lipstick in 077 ASIA

Hello,

So I've been loving this lipstick and it was very affordable at £5.49 which I think is a great price point for these lipsticks. The formula isn't quite as creamy as the Kate lipsticks, but this increases the staying power of the lipstick which I think is very useful and increases the wear time of the lipstick which I like. Also the packaging is sleek and simple and I think these are some great lipsticks to try if you're on a budget.
