The one Memory of Flora Banks

This book I love hands down.

It's written in such a cool way as it's from flora's perspective and she can only remember things for an hour then she'll forget it and her memories will only be from before she was ten years old. It's indicated that there are things being kept from her and the book follows her journey to finding out what's going on and finding herself. It's really a great book and without giving away spoilers I think it's a perfect young adult book.

Girl at War

This book was really gripping and I read it really quickly, in a couple of days. It's written from the point of view of a young girl and then her older self. I'd read a lot about this and I know several people who lived through this war. So it was interesting to read and to feel the emotional side of it. There were a few things which I thought let the book down, partially the way it moved on so quickly and I think also the fact that some bit seemed jumpy and sightly difficult to follow but overall I did really enjoy the book.

Black eyed Susan's

Today I finished reading Black eyed susans and I really wanted to share my thought on it. I really enjoyed the story it follows a lady Tess, who's been a victim of a serial killer in her late teens and she was the only survivor. The book is told via her adult self, teenage self (Post serial killer). And how she's unsure whether the correct person was convicted. I caught on quite quickly within the book who the really serial killer was. But it was interesting the psychology of survivors guilt which was included within the book and also the thoughts around a childhood best friend and that relationship and how it evolves.

Overall I really enjoyed the book I liked the suspense and it was an interesting take on a killer and the perspective of it from a survivor several years on.

Of Mice and Men

So I never read this book when I was in school and saw it was on quite a good deal on amazon and as I was ordering a bunch of books I ended up reading it all on a two hour train ride home. I thought it was interesting how it didn't feel like a short book, I think it's hard to write a really good short story because you don't have as many words to play with to make your point. But the way this book was written really made me feel like I was there with them, and I loved the language used to set the scenery. My only problem was that I felt as though it was a little jumpy at points and in terms of the timeline it seemed a little lucid. Because I feel like the chapters sometimes have unknown period of time between them. But really that's my only problem with it I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it for you if you've not already read it.
